Education and Experience

Dr. Christine Chen earned her medical degree from the University Hospital of the West Indies, Jamaica.

She completed her internship rotating through The Bustamante Hospital for Children, Kingston Public Hospital, Victoria Jubilee Hospital and National Chest Hospital in Jamaica.

She worked as a medical officer in the emergency room, Paediatric ward and nursery at the Bustamante Hospital for Children for 4 years.

She completed her residency in pediatrics at The Holtz’s Children Hospital at The University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Centre in Miami, Florida.

For the last 10 years, she has been in private practice in Grand Cayman.

 

Career Influence

Dr. Chen chose Paediatrics because she enjoys interacting with children, listening to their conversations and watching them grow up happy and healthy from birth until adolescence.

 

Clinical Interests

Dr. Chen’s clinical interests include general Paediatrics, newborn and infant care, early childhood development, and the treatment and prevention of injury and illness.

 

Dr. Chen is also the founder of Get Active, The Get Active Challenge and The Get Active Summer  Camp programs in Cayman which serve to educate and encourage families to adopt a more healthy and active lifestyle.

 

Practice Philosophy

Dr. Chen is dedicated to the health and well-being of children. She strives to provide high-quality primary care that is family-centered, accessible, comprehensive and compassionate moreover, she strives to remain up to date on Paediatric care and to practice evidence-based and cost-effective medicine.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Dr. Chen enjoys gardening, trying out healthy recipes, exercising and mommy time with her daughter.
